The fight for equality was symbolized, in 1973, by a tennis match between a man, Bobby Riggs and a woman, Billie Jean King (1943-)

  1. I watched this match on TV. She played hard and beat him. However, she was a champion in her own right way before this match. Out of 850 professional matches during her career, she won 695. Over a 10 year period she was ranked #1 in women's tennis 6 times.

    She founded the Women's Tennis Association, the Women's Sports Foundation and World Team Tennis. Quite a lady! I wonder who her heroes are,
