63. Eleanor Roosevelt

Eleanor Roosevelt(1884-1962) had long since changed from a shy young woman to the most active First Lady ever. From 1933 to 1945, she traveled all over the world for FDR, her wheelchair bound husband. She worked hard for human rights all her life.

  1. She wasn't just your run of the mill First Lady. She was very busy helping people to gain their rights.

Some think that she might have even been running the government when FDR got so sick. Whether she did or didn't isn't important. However, she made a difference and made her time in the white house count.
